Untuk kali ini, kita akan lebih membahas tentang pemakaian hob atau kompor yang dapat berdiri sendiri atau free standing. Berdiri sendiri bukan berarti bagian kompor ini terpisah dengan kitchen set, hanya saja kompor atau hob tidak menjadi satu kesatuan dengan bagian table top dan juga area kabinet bawah. Bagian hob atau kompor ini telah memiliki area sendiri dimana tabung gas dan juga oven terletak. Hal ini tentu saja membuat area kabinet bawah akan memiliki lebih banyak ruang sebagai tempat untuk meletakkan berbagai peralatan memasak atau makan dalam jumlah dan ukuran besar.
